Hinges are too lightweight
I feel stupid when I have to purchase replacement parts for something that is too lightweight for its intended use. The hinges broke in my cooler because they are lightweight plastic on a cooler lid that is quite heavy. The replacement hinges I purchased are exactly like the ones that came on my cooler. They fit correctly. However, I know that these will break with normal use also. Coleman, why can’t you just make the original hinges in a manner that will hold up to normal use? I know I will be buying these again soon. Disappointed.

Model List for this Part is Inaccurate
Although my cooler is listed on the package (Model 5299), these hinges did not fit my blue Coleman cooler. These hinges are 2" x 2-1/4", but the hinges on my cooler are 1-1/2" x 2-1/4".

Exactly what I needed
Called local sporting good stores and none carried replacement hinges for Coleman coolers. So I decidedd to go to their website and was able to find what I needed model number of your coolers are stamped on the bottom of cooler. Knowing the model number of your cooler is helpful.

Cooler Hinges/Drain
I ordered hinges & drain for my coleman cooler, which I've had for over 10yrs. This cooler has served me well, gone on many fishing trips. When a careless first mate broke the hinges, I thought there is nothing wrong with the rest of the cooler so I would get new hinges & drain. All parts were correct & fit perfectly only problem was the long time it took to arrive.

Perfect Replacements
Replacements for broken hinges on a classic Coleman Cooler. These are incredibly easy to replace. Unscrew the old broken ones, screw on the new ones. The replacements come with new screws.

Hinges fit as expected.
The plastic replacement hinges for my cooler fit as expected.
However, I am nervous about their longevity.
Much thinner material than the original hinges which broke after 3 summers of light use.
When these break I am not sure if I will spend the money for the steel hinges or just order more than one pair.
