My sister told me, "Sure, you have to have a Coleman!" It's OK. If you are using it as a percolator, it would be nice to have a glass top knob so you can see when the coffee is done. But most of those are plastic knobs and this one never falls out. Basket is flimsy aluminum; cowboys never used them anyhows! Get water boiling, add coffee, sit it in a warm rock for 5 minutes, rap a medium stick on the side to drop grind and pour slowly. Chew when you get too close to the bottom. Use when solo camping or 2. Have had mine for 40 years--no internet.

Would have given it a zero but was not an option
Needed this peculator for a video shoot I was filming in the woods. One would think that the design was simple enough (what could go wrong)? Came time of the shoot & the part for the peculator to make it's entrance to the scene but when I opened the package, the lid was jammed on the product so tight, I couldn't remove it with both hands. Terrible quality control. Like others in this forum, I would have returned it had I had been close to a Canadian Tire & could affford to lose the time. Closest distance to nearest Canadian Tire for return: 200 km (1 way)/ 4 hr round trip. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.......

Does What You Need
This thing isn’t fancy, it doesn’t have a glass top so you can see the coffee percolate. You have to listen for it and adjust the heat accordingly. But at the end of the day, it makes a solid cup a joe and that’s all I need on a crisp morning after coming out of the tent.

Nice percolator but has its flaws.
Good materials and shape. The lid however is defective. The knob on top is not as it looks in the picture. It is much more stubby making the knob hard to open. Another problem with the knob on the lid is that it gets hot because it is made of the same materials as the rest of the Percolator. Internal percolator parts would be better if made of steel. The aluminum is flimsy. I would have returned it but I needed it for camping and did not have enough time to get another one.

Bought at Coleman Outlet Store in Birch Run Michigan. Looks good makes lots of coffee that blows my Mr. Coffee away.

Highly recommend!
There is nothing like percolated coffee over an open fire! This one is perfect! We’ve had it for years and has always been one of the best piece of our traditional camping trips! Price point is great for this product. It works quickly and keep things hot. Cleaning is super simple just a question clean rinse with water and light soap!

It’s takes way to long to brew
There is a love and hate relationship for this. When out camping it’s great cause we’re relaxing and not in a hurry however being home and trying to use it becomes a pain in the rump. My coffee pot broke so I tried using this and it took almost 30 minutes to brew and I had coffee grind in my cup.
